Dick Burke becomes a licensed journeyman plumber in the Yakima Valley. He is a second generation plumber.

After working for Hoydar-Buck Electrical and Plumbing for 7 years, Dick Burke bought out the plumbing portion of the business in 1981.
- 1981
The clipping names him the area representative for A-O Smith hot water heaters and Bradford White heaters. That was the 1981 arrangement, not a current dealership.

Readers of the Yakima Valley Business Times name Burke's Plumbing one of the best plumbers in the valley.

Best of the Valley again, and an Angie's List Super Service Award for the Yakima chapter.

We recently sold our business to our son Lance and now I help him out. Ken and Steve, the fourth generation, are on the crew.
The same clipping lists the family: “The Burkes have two sons, Loren, 9, and Lance 22 months.” Lance owns the business today.

Richard Burke, called Dick, has been a licensed journeyman plumber in the Yakima Valley since 1973. He is a second generation plumber. In his words: “We recently sold our business to our son Lance and now I help him out.”
Lance Burke owns Burke's Plumbing now and answers the email at the bottom of every page. Dick's two grandsons work the trucks too: Ken and Steve Burke “have grown up in our home, they have always been doing plumbing with their grandpa.” They are the fourth generation, and Dick adds, “And Yes you may think you are seeing double because you are, they are twins.”
